The Green Party vows to expel members who go to synagogues listed as ‘Zionist’

If it looks, talks, behaves and speaks like an antisemitic party, chances are it is.

What a bunch of muppets

Is it possible to belong to the Green Party and be – ahem – Jewish? (Sorry, it feels like a dirty word these days.) I only ask because members risk being reported to the party for racism if they belong to “Zionist” synagogues, under plans to be debated at the party conference this weekend.

After amendments to protect Jews were rejected, the party will now vote at their conference in Brighton this weekend on a motion to declare all expressions of Zionism — the Jewish desire for self-determination — a form of racism.

This flows directly from Cold War propaganda produced by the Kremlin. In 1975, after a decade of Soviet and Arab lobbying, the United Nations voted to adopt Resolution 3379, which likewise determined that “Zionism is a form of racism and racial discrimination”.

Writing for the Spectator at the time, the journalist Goronwy Rees despairingly reflected: “The fundamental thesis … was that to be a Jew, and to be proud of it, and to be determined to preserve the right to be a Jew, is to be an enemy of the human race.”

The resolution, which prompted British Students’ Unions to ban Jewish societies on campuses, was only repealed in 1991, after the fall of the Berlin Wall.

But now it is back. Astonishingly, this blatant piece of dezinformatsiya, which was literally dreamed up by Kremlin “Zionologist” propagandists, is rearing its ugly head in the British far-Left. And if Zionism is racism, then even synagogues are verboten.

In a recording of the Green Party meeting seen by The Times, Sam Alston, a Jewish member of the Oxford chapter, argued that making members face internal disciplinary procedures for attending “Zionist” synagogues would be “indirect religious discrimination”, as “the majority of Jewish institutions and the majority of Jews in the UK define themselves as Zionist”. His concerns were brushed aside.

Which returns me to my original question: is it possible, in 2026, to be Green and Jewish? Your answer, I presume, will be yes, with Zack Polanski, the contemptible leader of that contemptible party, as an example.

Not so fast.
