Good riddance : institutional hatred , mass murder , kidnapping , organised crime , hostile propaganda ; I would say thank you Israel - you have done the world a favour.

The most important part relates to our comfortable self-righteousness. One can wish that no one needs to use these measures to simply survive. From a comfort of our homes when our choices are between what ice cream we want to buy, we have no right to judge.

The world is a safer place without monsters like Nasrallah. The fact that Israel has pulled this off unassisted, totally without the help of the USA, is nothing short of astonishing. Months of intelligence gathering and surveillance resulted in the entirety of the Hezbollah leadership and command and communications being decimated in little more than one week, after Iran had spent forty years building up Hezbollah as a deterrent.

Now with Hezbollah effectively neutered, its leadership decapitated and its weapons caches unprotected, Iran is completely exposed and quite vulnerable. Its own air defences are woefully inadequate and it knows Israel can strike pretty much anywhere in the Middle East with impunity now. Khamenei will be sleeping with one eye open from today, as he realises he could easily be next.

Already we have seen popular sentiment across the Middle East broadly supportive of the removal of Nasrallah. Every country in the region stands to benefit from the defeat of Iran and its terror proxies. Israel is already meting out punishment to the Houthis in Yemen as payback for its rockets.

Rest assured, the message for all Israel’s neighbours is simple and clear: Uunder no circumstances will there be any repeat of 7 October 2023. Israel is here to stay and has the military might to back it up.

If the world wants your country gone and your race exterminated, nothing will make them happy until they have seen both these goals accomplished, and until then, they will have sympathy for anyone trying to do their dirty work for them.
